To draw a parallel, it is not unlike the Arabs blaming all their problems on the Jewish presence in the wasteland that the Ottomans ignored for centuries that is now called Israel (sup jay?).
<font size="4" face="Arial">The problems in the near east are due to Anglo-American imperialism. As for "Israel", PALESTINE was a fully functioning province of the Ottoman Empire for over 1000 years. it was NOT a "wasteland". The rulers in that part of the world are USA puppets, and they are no better than the usurping, thieving Zionists. Stop mouthing Zionist propaganda.

Just say NO to Zionism. Support a one-state solution for ALL.

Nuke the wall!!

Jay, it's apparent you don't like the way that the US and UK are run, so just out of interest, where in the world would you rather be? Is there a country that you think is run satisfactorily?

Daz too, if you like. I'm interested in seeing which countries come out on top.

I'm niether an Isreali, a democratic American, a
rabid (aren't they all?) neo-con American, a
Zionist, a supporter of Blairite puppeteer-ed
politics, and most definetly not a paid-up
member of the fundamental Christiandom that
Lycan supports - so I don't pretend to have
knowledge (or partisanship to any of the afore-
mentioned), I simply speak from an impartial,
agnostic Nietzschean-esque perspective.

Lycan's fundamentalist opinions are far removed
from my own, but I grace him with the power with
which to voice them. He's ostensibly not willing
to grant people the same priviledge.

This is petty, sad, and reeks of ignorance beget-
ing fear.

I except nothing more.

As for the 'ideal' country. There isn't one.
We live in an age inherently incapable of
producing either an ideological sound state
or a utopianist environment with which to live
in.

We must simply travel the globe and bless our-
selves whenever we come across beautiful vistas
and/or people.

Nordic icelands ... Iceland's mountainous regions
themselves ... an Australian desert ... the Caspian
Sea ... orange-faced Siberian gurus ... Chilian
shop-keepers ... Geordie stand-up comics ...
Hawaiian volcano-bothering mountian bike riders
... a steaming glass of moretta drank on a white
beach in Italy, etc., etc.

Everything man-made - and especially politics -
is ugly.

<font size="4" face="Arial">1000 more letters.....still nothing said.

You gonna answer the question posed or are you going to remain, how did you put it???, petty, sad, and reeking of ignorance begetting fear? Or is it that your impartial, agnostic Nietzschean-esque perspective doesn't have to identify and justify itself? Do you consider it to be above questioning?

Did you ever consider that the question you
posed was incomprehensible? What question was
it? And furthermore, please explain this so-called
'Russian system' you alluded to before.

<font size="4" face="Arial">btw, great questions, Stacey. I really doubt if either will answer.

<font size="4" face="Arial">You start answering my questions and maybe I'll clarify further for you. I'm sorry. I thought that you would be able to figure it all out on your own. However, I see that I should have 'dumbed' them down for you. Let me know which you were having problems with and I'll rephrase them in a style that would be easier for you to follow.

wreckage which goes by the name of Americanisation.

It will be hard to combate. The fight - for some
countries - may already be over. I believe, though,
that Europe still has decades and decades of fight
still left in her.

As for the apocalypticists, this is a reference
to a book - a pamphlet, really - I espied a few
of years ago. In it, they claimed - quite
prophetically, as it goes - that the first stage
of Revelations would be the unification of Europe.

They actually coined an 'United States of Europe.'

Zeusknows how revisionist this was.

<font size="4" face="Arial">Where is your pride for nation? Is it all a matter of 'beat the U.S.'? Because, if this is your outlook, you will be disappointed. Even if you get the outcome you desire, the final result will ultimately be the assimilation of your country into the collective 'european nation'. By doing so, you will be achieving exactly that which Hitler's armies and the Russian system couldn't.

But then, if this is all you care about your own national identity, to have it tossed into a generic stew, then what can I say? Lock arms and march.

btw, playing the blame game only works as long as you have somebody to blame. Ultimately, after all you point your accusing finger at are gone, you will be left with merely yourself to blame. Of course, that's giving it some foresight. Who would ever expect something like that from this world?

Carry on.

I did however want to address a few things specifically that have been posted, and at least contribute another opinion...

- To Lycan...If I'm not mistaken, you reside in Nebraska. Your state is well known for its ultra-conservative political ideology. I gather from your posts that you fall in line politically with the rest of your mates in the cornhusker state. Even though I am from Missouri, another relatively conservative state (although not nearly as much so as Nebraska), I am the offspring of two former hippies, anti-Vietnam War protestors, and devoted liberals. I'm more conservative than my folks on some issues (abortion morality) and more liberal than them on others (gun control for example). Regardless, I'm sure that we are both products of our upbringing. In reference to your post about "The Onion" article, I say this: The Onion is a fun, but satirical paper. Most of what it says, it says in humor. The article you linked me to about Kerry, while funny, and a bit sad, is hardly factual. That's all I'll say on that...

I do want to address the suggestion that I frequently hear from everyone from local yocals to Ralph Nader, that there's little difference in Bush and Kerry. WRONG. On everything from abortion rights to gun control to environmental issues, the differences between the two men are enormous. We could write a 1000 page book on the fundamental differences. I remember hearing that same shit in 2000. Bottom line...If Gore was President, we wouldn't have 1000 dead soldiers in Iraq, and that war would never have happened. Ask the families of those dead soldiers if it made any difference who won the election...

I also read that it was somehow sad that people might vote for Kerry just to get rid of Bush. How so? It's called a referendum. It happens in EVERY election in which an incumbent runs. If you don't like the incumbent, you attempt to vote him out. We just had a huge one here in Missouri. Our Democratic incumbent Governor lost to another Democrat in the primaries. I'm glad, because I thought he sucked as a Governor. I'm not a huge Kerry fan. I actually voted for John Edwards in the primaries. More than anything, I think Bush has been a horrible Presdent, and I'll be glad to discuss specifics of why with anyone who wants to discuss it. Because I believe this, I want him out of office more than I want John Kerry in office. I'm terrified of what our nation will become under four more years of Bush, and because of that, Kerry will get my vote.

Another argument I read on here that is 100% wrong is the statement that the rest of the world will hate us regardless of who wins this election. This couldn't be more wrong. While this may be true of the Middle East, it's certainly not true of our European allies. Under Bush, and his near-unilateral actions and utter disrespect for the wishes of the rest of the world, our contry has gone in three years plus from being the beacon of freedom and justice in the world, the greatest of all friends to have, to suddenly being a nation that is disliked and distrusted by almost every country on the planet. I'm ashamed of what this country has done, and what we have become. This is not the country that I grew up loving, and every time I hear the anthem, it nearly brings me to tears out a love for the country that once was, but is no longer here. Under a new administration, and under new policies that protect alliances and long term friends, many of our old friends will come back into the fold, and we could be stronger than ever, and regain our position as the country everyone wants to be a part of once again. Under Bush, the long slow decline into isolationism is inevitable. Outside of our wonderful friends in the UK, our strongest ally in the world right now is Pakistan. Translated, we are in trouble...

Just another note to agree with the notion that Tony Blair is Bush's lapdog...He is. The difference is that Blair is man enough to say "Hey, we f**ked up here...I'm sorry." Bush, with his obsurd form of Texas bravado (I can say that, I was born there and lived there long enough to know of what I speak), refuses to admit that we had no right to invade Iraq. Also, the British citizenry is intelligent enough to see the truth, while the Americans for some disturbing reason seem so blinded by Bill O'Reilly that the truth is lost far in the back of their minds...Hopefully they'll find it sometime...

On a more lighthearded note, I did like the mentioning of baseball...Don't forget that I sport a nice St. Louis Cardinals tattoo on my shoulder, which means I'm enjoying a very nice season...GO CARDS!!!

Hope to continue this...Lycan, I'm open to whatever questions you may have...

Sandi
